The launch -- January 9, 2016
What a wonderful start to our monthly beach trail time trials -- a field of 23 runners, warm sunshine after days of bitter cold, windless conditions after a week of gales.
However, the tide was unusually high and most runners returned home with a generous splash of the Mediterranean in their shoes (note: this is not expected to be the case generally -- the tide was the highest we have seen it for months).
The atmosphere was happy and the runners were in high spirits. And to our delight a number of runners turned up with their families.
With children playing on the beach, a few brave souls swimming, and runners relaxing with after-run drinks, the Meneou Tourist Kiosk proved to be a great venue for the event.
